Team Up (I think thats what its called)

Do any of you know how to team up? Its where you lounge a horse and you try to get it to trust you? the first sign its working is, his ears are squared with you, and then he starts chewing, but there's nothing in his mouth, and then he puts his head down.....and you turn away, and he comes to you and puts his mussle on your shoulder, and you start walking and he follows you.....have any of you tried it? does it work?
if so, how long does it normally take?
