Greetings,
I have just heard yesterday about Charli's decision to finally see sense and call it a day at Hi-5. In a way I am a bit shocked, but in another way I am not surprised. Charli knew in her own heart that her time there was up long before this finally came about. As a person who has had the wonderful privilege of actually bumping into Charli, Tim and Kathleen a few times while they were touring Melbourne, I can really feel how Charli must be wondering in her own heart about how she could do more to expand her own reach in the broader family audience market.
I realise that she has a wonderful ambitious plan to focus on an adult/youth drama career, but, with the right song and marketing and, of course, the best instrumental training, I feel Charli could also make it as a solo children's country or Avril-type children's rock music artist. The Australian children's music scene is currently lacking such a prominent female solo artist and Charli could fill that gap. I think she - and Tim and Kathleen - are the 3 most 'real' out of the Australian Hi-5 bunch and people saw that from the programme. People warmed to her.
Good luck, Charli.
