Posted by Steven on 26/7/2007, 1:57 pm A polished format in an afternoon timeslot has given the cast of Nine's Hi-5 something to really smile about. A minder-source within the Production team has revealed, "Ratings are up, album sales are up and website attendance is well over what we had anticipated for this stage of the new season". The hi-5.com.au website is a new official Hi-5 website for the show's Australian cast, which adds to the interactive theme of the show. "I think that we have been quite open and interactive with the show concept allowing people a voice through the unofficial fan websites." She added, "This is always difficult for us to do ourselves as the loudest voices are traditionally critical" Hi-5 has copped more than its fair share of negative publicity in the past, but the producers and programme executives at Nine are confident with a different approach and revised production style-format. "We haven't been afraid to speak out about issues relating to the show, such as the racial and even religious slurring of certain cast members and stand-ins and our re-shuffling of the cast and production styles. Ratings are tracking well this week against the last series of Raggs and Playhouse Disney for the same point of time into the series, and we are confident that the show can stand up on its own." The new Album "WOW" is a debut 'Bullet Performer' this month, debuting at position 30 on the ARIA chart. The Hi-5 'Travelling Circus' video is now available on DVD and the normal show is at 3.30pm on Weekdays.
