The Mac fiend is only a recent title acquisition, heehee! I've always been an equal opportunity hauler until last year when Sephora began disappointing me by never carrying anything in my store that they had online.
Rhonda as for your 4 pan, here are my thoughts...
First of all for my coloring, I am usually the 3rd or 4th shade in most lines. I'm a Mac N3/4. I tend to be warm toned in the winter and cool in the summer.
A few suggestions for you, I'd drop Satin Taupe in exchange for Patina. I personally don't care for Satin Taupe. Both Orb & Jest look fantastic with Patina as lid colors. I'd switch out Yogurt for Jest which is shimmery. My favorite brow highlights are Vanilla, Phloof, & Blanc Type. For a good neutral, I'd go with Kid. So for this palette I'd go with-
Jest, Patina, Phloof, Kid/Corduroy/Typographic (depending on if you want a blending color, contour color, or liner as Celia suggested).
I never wear Shale unless I'm trying to do a Giada de Laurentiis smoky lavender eye and I wear it with Digit or Beautiful Iris. But I don't think it's anything terribly special.
Some of my can't live without neutral/brown Mac shades are Phloof, Vanilla, Blanc Type, Vapour, All That Glitters, Jest, Woodwinked, Amber Lights, Soba, Kid, Cork, Soft Brown, Patina, Honesty, Saddle, Swiss Chocolate, Corduroy, Black Tied.
