TC 1 Tube tester

Have replaced all res & the cap, the set line control (rheostat) & used a known good meter. Still get no reading on the meter when turned on. Have not replaced the half wave rectifier. Could this be the prob? When activate the test switch the meter does move about half way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mack
