I'd simply REMOVE the offending plates and leave the open spaces at the FRONT. The difference in capacitance won't make much difference. I have a 2060A, and the biggest problem with getting one FROM SOMEBODY, is that often, NONE of the hardware is tight. Check it ALL (including inside the box with all the SO-239's). got a schematic?
