I can't agree with you more here!!! When I first started wearing a hnt (from years of standard cuts) I asked the barber to take the s/b as close as possible. That barber took me down to a O blade. After I switched barbers, I told my second barber he same. I first asked me if I was military. I said no and he skinned me probably another O. He then proceeded to tell me as I was in the chair, he had a state patrol officer who had him shave the sides and back with the straight razor. I had heard about this at this site and others and immediately asked him if he would shave me. He seemed hesitate at first, but I assured him "it's what I wanted". This continued for several months and I approached him with the idea if I brought a Mach III would he shave me a second time against the grain. He agreed. I couldn't wait until my weekly cut. The next week, I took in a new razor, got the treatment as was amazed.
That barber retired and my current guy has continued the treatment with the newer Extreme blades. (can't think of the name). I have since left the hnt for more of a recon horseshoe which I've maintained for about 5 years. Since I'm excited about recons and their look, I can't imagine any other cut. I've experimented with smaller and more extreme horseshoes but am similiar to the cut you posted currently. A little higher on the back and sides but very flat on the top. You have an outstanding cut here! The shaved tight sides and back make it outstanding! Keep it tight! How often do you get your s/b shaved? I wish I could afford cuts twice a week, as the extra tight s/b look great and I hate not being skin tight!
