I decided to post this because I thought it might provoke interest.
The other day I want for my usual bi-weekly shearing. My barber was booked, but fitted me in early in the morning. I'm not that awake in the morning, so I settled in to the waiting chairs and read my car magazines. I was only vaguely aware of the customer sitting opposite me, unremarkable except for the knitted cap pulled way down over his ears. (It was during a mild spell.) He went into the chair, and - beyond the constant drone of the clippers - I wasn't aware that a major shearing was occurring. As I got up, I noticed that he now sported the shortest flat I'd ever seen. But the kicker was that he had made an appointment for a cut - only 4 days later!
In the chair, I asked my barber about this. He remarked that the guy always comes in twice a week and gets the same cut - and mentioned that the guy was a gym freak. I have to admit that I was intrigued, but not overly nosy; it was just nice to see that I'm not the only one. (By the way, the cut looked great on him!)
