To see what we see today you have to go back to the pre-Beatles early 60's. Secret Service guys or personal security guys shadowing the candidates are real High and Tight. Clearly and obviously so. It's even funny to a degree -- you can pick them out of a crowd in a minute.
As for the men wearing Cammies and going off to war or coming home from it (including citizen soldiers reservists) have near fully shaved heads as the norm. That is a major change from my time in the 70s when folk sought to hide it.
I see it too among the UFC fighters and even some of the major league teams -- it even got a name as a "Ray-Hawk". Cops are more often "skins" than not.
I even see more expressions of "male hard core" amoung the legal professionals I deal with each day.
Some are saying that a fashion/fad is passing. I say the opposite. This is a very special era. If you want to wear radical skin you can do it. No one will "put you down". Go for it! It may not be the top "fashion statement", but the who ever wanted to be "fashionable"?
Men who reject "metosexualism" have never has such an opening in the past 40 years. If you've got a male hangup and have wanted to "do it", now is THE TIME like no other!
