Remember Country Joe and the Fish? What are we fighting for? Remember Bobby Kennedy? "I dream things that never were and ask why not." Remember when blacks were disrespected and villified as gay men and women are today?
Remember when the USA was looked up to as a moral guiding force?
If you are in anyway "religious" do you recall that the Passover and the Ressurection were both moments when the reviled, the rejected, the put down were justified.
I have dear friends, intense friends, that I will offend with my words. They will either tell me that Barack is no Bobbie, or that Bobbie was wrong, or that politics has no connection with morality. It's all economic they say; what does it offer me.
I say to you -- and I recognize that I am preaching. Barak is unfortunately not Bobbie Kennedy. Bobbie spoke his words from the heart. He had no interest or need in either power or money. He was the best self-less person this country ever produced.
But I say to you that Barack bears the mantle; he holds the guidon! He offers the best opportuity in recent history to reclaim the Bobby Kennedy legacy.
If you are gay, then remember that McCain is your natural enemy. A vote for McCain is a vote against your interest. If "gay" is the "other" and not your "thing" then vote for Barack simply to allow this nation to live. It is on life support. It is going to die unless there is a profound change.
I argue that casting a vote of Barack is a vote for that profound change. I say do not drag us into the deepest abyss because you "hate" someone. MAKE COMMON CAUSE FOR
THE SALVATION OF ALL !!
