I don't like posting sad news, but didn't see it listed...
And I know many of you either knew him personally or corresponded with AtlBarber on this and/or several other haircutting sites. AtlBarber aka Philip Harrison, passed away on December 7, here in Atlanta. His obituary, which notes his love of barbering and fellow haircut enthusiasts, from the Atlanta Journal Constitution follows.

Mr. Philip Carter Harrison passed into eternal rest on December 7, 2007 after suffering a brief illness. Mr. Harrison was born to Reverend Stanley Lee Harrison, Snr. and Helen Louise Carter Harrison on March 9, 1955 in Greene County, Tennessee. He was a twenty-one year resident of Atlanta, relocating from Bristol, Virginia to accept employment with BellSouth Corporation as an accounting professional. Mr. Harrison was a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant who was graduated from East Tennessee State University with his Bachelor of Science Cum Laude (1976) held his Masters in Business Administration with Honors (1985) from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was a member of the National Association of Certified Public Accountants, Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was a 20-year member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants. He worked for many years a Senior Tax Management Executive with BellSouth Corporation, now doing business as, the new AT&T. His professional reputation was nationally recognized among his peers. Mr. Harrison was the son of a United Methodist Minister and was a life-long communicant of the United Methodist Church. He was a member at St Mark United Methodist Church Midtown Atlanta. In addition, Mr. Harrison attended at Portal United Methodist Church and in Bulloch County, Georgia. He was a generous supporter of the mission of the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church Board of Pensions and of the Foundation for the Methodist Home for Children and Youth in Macon, Georgia. Mr. Harrison was active in the preservation efforts to restore Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and Cemetery. Pleasant Hill Church being a dormant charge with an annual homecoming gathering and dinner-on-the-grounds, where Philip loved to share his favorite dishes and exchange recipes. He was a brilliant musical talent having played piano and pipe organ from very early ages. Philip often played in the churches of the communities served by his father. His favorite composer was J. S. Bach; his favorite work of Bach's was Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. Philip was an avid reader enjoying historical fiction and authors of Southern Fiction Literature. Philip held various interests and had many hobbies, that included stamp collecting, coin collecting and needlework and hand crafts. Philip was a licensed Master Barber for over 12 years. He enjoyed the personal connection to his friends and haircut clients. Of the many civic causes and organizations Philip supported, these were his most admired: The Human Rights Campaign, National Audubon Society, The National Democratic Party, The Georgia Democratic Party, PEDS Atlanta, Pets Are Loving Support (PALS), Tennessee Farm Bureau, Georgia Farm Bureau, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Methodist Home for Children and Youth. Philip is survived by his Mother, Helen Carter Harrison of Johnson City, Tennessee; his Brother, Stanley Lee Harrison, Jnr. of Boone's Creek (Johnson City, TN) and his Devoted Life-Companion and Partner, Jason Mikell Akins of Atlanta, Georgia. Memorial Services will be held in the Chapel of H. M. Patterson Funeral Home - Spring Hill on Wednesday, December 12, this year at Eleven o'clock in the morning. His Partner and Family will be receiving visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 11th from Five until 8 o'clock in the evening. The earthly remains of Philip Carter Harrison will be interred at the Carter Family Cemetery in Monte Vista Burial Park, Johnson City, Tennessee on Friday, December 14, this year at 11:00 o'clock in the morning. His Companion and Family request that, in lieu of flowers contributions be made to The United Methodist Home for Children and Youth P. O. Box # 2525 Macon, Georgia 31204 Atten: Reverend Dr. Laudis H. Lanford.
