Posted by Gunny Ramzi may be the last full service barber on the East Coast, or in the USA for that matter. The shop is a bit modern salon in ambiance, but it's not an overpriced metosexual "spa". As far as I know everything comes with a standard $15 price tag. Not cheap but reasonable in this day and age. What I learned is for that price Ramzi will do a full face shave. I personally received a head shave. The man executes all variations of HT and "fade" with care and precision. Hot towels are standard fare. You can get as few or as many of these services by simply asking. He does not have an "agenda" -- he will cut your hair "Ivy League" if that is your preference. But he will enthusiastically go to "extremes" if you choose. For those of you who are too young to remember, it is akin to the old Italian barbers who arrived with the immigration wave in Boston in the 30's and who held sway in the North End and Financial District into the early 80's. If you want to simply go and see a real barber at work, or if you want to experience a true barbering experience, look up Ramzi in Orleans. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has discovered another real barber elsewhere in the country.

I've received more second hand info on Ramzi's shop in Orleans, MA. About mid-way on the Cape between Hyannis and Provincetown.
