My sympathies... we've all been there!
Not sexist, but traditional barber schools teach men how to use clippers and "go down to the wood."
Most female hairstylists (notice I said most) don't know how to use clippers properly, even a good tapercut. Luckily, some younger guys are getting back into barbering and have mastered the art of a good flat, H&T or recon.
