Posted by Gunny Judy's a minister in the United Church of Christ, a liberal denomination. At 57 she is prone to act like 30. You never know what she will say or do. Today, at the restaurant, our waiter was a slim, "pretty" Asian, with blond highlights in black hair. I really hadn't given him a second look. But Pastor Judy was working on a different agenda. She was fascinated. It seems some of her single parishoners are gay and looking for partners. She asked me if I thought he was gay. To which I responded with an inarticulate, disinterested grunt. Poor young man. He of course had to come back to the table to find out if everything was "OK". She asked him directly, "are you single?". After he said "yes", her next line was "are you gay or straight? I'm a minister, here's my card. I've got some gay men in my congregation who are looking for a hook up." Jesus!! Although I know this woman is "liberal" as I am, I have difficulty discussing my sexual exploits with her. But this lunch was something I've never before experienced. I wanted to crawl under the seat. I couldn't look the man in the face for the balance of lunch! You have to have real balls to be part of an "Open and Accepting" UCC congregation! BTW she's recently remarried to a man who is a welder and a Former. I know this is not hair cuts, but I had to share. I was truly mortified.
