Posted by Dave on 14/8/2007, 10:11:10, in reply to "crummy barbershop" I know you probably prefer a male barber, but the gal who owns Classic Cuts barbershop in kingston excels at flat tops. I was in there by chance last summer (just driving through) when I watched her execute 3 flat tops of various length, followed by a HnT so skinned and short on top there wasnt enough to pinch. In each cut, she took appropriate amount of time with the clippers and did fabulous work finishing the cuts with straight razor shaving -- no matter that she had 4-5 clients waiting, she got each one right. (I now understand why they are willing to wait so long for her.) She did a nice job on a reg biz cut on me too, doing extensive tapering & taking 25+ minutes including the neck shave. While in the chair chatting with her, she said that she has become know for her flats over the years and does several each day, although she actually prefers doing cuts that are shorter and more extreme like HnT's. If the end product (haircut) is more important than the cutting environment ( the shop), I would say you can't go wrong. Dave

Sorry, I forget the barbers name, as it was quite a while back, but she worked the front station and had longish hair.
