As a fan of the M*A*S*H television series, I am upset at the lack of authenticity in the hair styles of the soldiers... particulary the guest actors who play the patients in the hospital. In one episode I saw recently, a wounded soldier was brought into the ER direct from battle with a perfectly greased and styled "rockabilly" hair style. Other soldiers have often had similar styles. Besides the absurdity of going to battle and coming out with perfect hair, would these type of styles even be permitted? I don't expect to see everyone with fresh induction cuts (which would be nice but also unrealistic), but were these styles really have been allowed? The producers of M*A*S*H are so good with detail in other aspects of the show that it seems especially out of place to see these styles.
