Posted by Gunny At the same time the Army has relaxed its standards and will permit tats on the back of hands or on the (visible) "lower neck". I'm in total agreement with the Corps new position and unalterably opposed to the Army way of doing things. Tats that are large and visible when wearing PT shorts and T-shirts do not belong on a US Marine whether current kids bizarre behavior is in favor of it or not. The Corps needs proper discipline. Men ought to look like men, not like circus performers. I doubt my wishes will be realized but maybe ... the Corps will insist on HTs for all members ... maybe? A man in the Corps should not be allowed to bleach, high light, or create a "cut" however short based on heavy application of product. If the "style" of hair or body art was unknown 40 years ago it ought to be prohibited today. Save us from creeping submission to the idiocies of youth!

Passing on a bit of news from MSNBC. The Corps has finally recovered a bit of its senses. After some half hearted efforts they have laid down the law. "Sleeve"-type tats that extend below the elbow or knee and any large tat in those areas are now "off limits". HooRay for the Corps.
