Posted by ShornBald I admit, lately, I've had my doubts, but last night both reassures ard reaffirms my belief in both the democratic process and that the voice of the people can still be heard above the political bureaucracy of Washington. HOWEVER, we Democrats can't sit back and pat ourselves on the back -- much work needs to be done. In fact, we're just starting. We've much damage to repair. Health care... gay and civil rights... education... the environment... an appropriate winning solution for Iraq, stem cell research... minimum wage... etc... While the list is seemingly endless... at least last night was a major step in the right direction. Thanks to all who exercised their constitutional privilege to vote (regardless of party) and shame to all who didn't. Damned proud to be a liberal, a Democrat and most of all American! Shorn

After last night's election results, I can once again hum FDR's "Happy Days Are Here Again" given our victories in the House and Senate, not to mention Secretary Rumsfeld's hasty departure.
