I also have a recon style horseshoe and occasionally get the urge to shave it all off. My barber keeps discouraging the shave - saying it will take at least a month to grow it out. I know that's BS because Iv'e got a radically short shoe where the front is only 1/4" long at the longest. Probably could be back to a skin tight shoe in about 10 days. Actually I'll keep listening to my barber because you're absolutely right, there's nothing like a horseshoe. Not alot of recon shoes in the great Buckeye State, What part of Ohio are you located?
