Bush praised his FEMA choice as New Orleans disappeared under the crush of Katrina. This week he praised Rumsfield and Cheney as doing "fantastic" jobs and pledged that they will stay for the remainder of his administration. Monday the Marine Times, Air Force Times, Army Times, and Navy Times -- publications that serve our fighting men -- will call for Rumsfield's resignation!! They will say that he has lost the confidence of the American military. But W. insists on "staying the course". You guys above all others can send a real message to Bush on Tuesday. Your training teaches you that you have to be skilled and competent to do your duty. On Tuesday vote against ineptitude. Vote for a Democratic Congress. Only when Bush realizes that he is destroying his own party will he finally listen to the people. Vote, if for no other reason, to save the institution you love. You are not "dumb". This administration cheers you in words but is treating you like pawns in a chess game -- expendable. Bush's sole objective is not protecting America but protecting himself and those around him.
