Posted by Gunny This guy had his cover off. I was able to get a long direct look at his hair. It was a perfect "fade". Take the BDU's off and the man could as well have been standing in Dockers and whatever is the current polo shirt in a civilian bar. He would never have been asked if he was military, only "where can I get such a perfect 'fade'"? He was damn "pretty". Like a model/actor from a movie. "Buffed" as they say. I still think a military cut ought to be different -- a bit crude in cut -- not perfect. The opposite of the models in the fashion magazines. I'm not happy with what is going on and passes as the New Age military.

Today where I work I saw a young 20 something Army recuiter standing outside having a smoke. I'm still getting used the digitized pattern desert BDUs -- they look different and at this point make it difficult to distinguish a Marine from an Army man at a distance. The BDU covers remain different but they are very similar these days. I had to see the insignia sewn on the sleeve to be sure of the service.
