Posted by Gunny I went back. Unfortunately John wasn't there. The walls were covered with military covers and memorabilia but the only barber available was "Sis". To her credit she had no problem giving me a 000 skin cut. She was aggressive with the tool she had in hand. She did not hesitate for even a minute. She was personal and friendly. But she was in the end a woman. She did nothing to feed my ego. I think the difference with having a male cut hair is the "power exchange". A male barber has some "stake" in the cut. Either he sees it as "macho" even though he won't do it himself, or he sees it as "macho" and agrees. Perhaps this is gay thing. But I cannot get any thrill out of a cut by a female however willing that she is. I insist that a barbershop experience MUST me a male to male meeting.

In the middle of last week I found a barber shop very close to where I work in Salem, MA. I scoped it out though the windows and saw that they had Marine League posters on the wall. It is called "John's". It looked promising.
