I work at a gristmill in a city park and we store our corn in a metal trash can (in kernel form, of course). As long as the corn is fairly dry and the can is kept inside, bugs are not a big problem. Of course, this problem worsens as the weather warms up. Basically, watch your corn consumption and only order as much corn as you can grind in a month or two. That way, your corn supply will always be fresh.
