One night way back when I was in middle school I useda focusing lens from a broken CD player with a 650nm laser and a I managed to use it to burn stuff. I was able to (after 10-20 seconds of focusing it on the target) cause things like leaves and pieces of wood to burn and even catch fire. That laser wound up burning out and I have tried the same trick since but without success. Does anybody know how to mosyfiy a laser to burn like that?
