pop out the power button and in the lefthand corner, you'll see a pit with a screw inside. Turn the screw counter-clockwise until the laser doesn't light any longer, then turn gradually clockwise until you get light. You've achieved max pot output, which is around 40mW. Some sites say it is only 30, but I tested mine at about 50mW. Depends on how percise you get your calibration.
