SAVE OUR GOLLY!

I had a Golliwog as a child and when I came to the states to live, it got lost. It was my most prized possession. I recently returned home to Wales for a visit with my daughter and the whole village went on a golliwog alert to try to find one for me to bring back home. But because of the short time I was there, I came home empty handed. I just want to say that this baby boomer has never considered the Golliwog to be a symbol of racism but a very well loved and cherished character and reminder of the wonderful life I had in Wales as a young child. Adults can turn anything into a politically racist argument if they try hard enough but a child only sees it for what it actually is...a lovable TOY! May the Golliwog live in our hearts forever!
