I am east Indian. I grew up in India. I always read about the golliwog as a child. I owned a golliwog too. It was once upon a time a very salient feature of any toy box in any children's story. I did not see him as a black guy but just as golliwog, the happy chap. I am 27 now, my fiance is dutch. We just chanced upon a golliwog in the u.k and he bought it for me. Iam so happy to have a golliwog again. This is the first toy in our future first baby's room for sure. Please dont be racist to the golliwog let him live......
