We are all a product of history. It just so happens that our not-so-ancient past has involved a persistent and brutal dehumanization of those of the black "race". The Golliwog is just another product of the ever-present idea that those of dark skin are ugly, inferior, and deserve to be ridiculed. Just because you "loved" your Golliwog doesn't mean you're not racist. After all, it was based on a minstrel show character. I know you all think white is right, but for once just try to take off your voluntary blinders and see! Embrace your racism people, only then will you be able to defeat it!
