Golliwogs are racist caricatures of black men. Anyone who refuses to believe this doesn't want to accept the truth and probably is a racist. If one million black people tell you that they feel that the Gollywog is insulting and demeaning, are their feelings to be dismissed if a few white people disagree? If I don't feel your pain does that mean that you're not in pain? How about listening to people and respecting their feelings when they are the objects of the insults.
No one who has any repect for any black person would have anything to do with this racist symbol. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want anything in my house that is disrespectful and hurtful to any one of any race. Anyone who refuses to try to understand this is a major contributor to the hate, ignorance and bigotry in today's society.
