I love my golliwogs. I have quite a collection. I wanted them to feel at home, so I've named them and all. My favorite is Toby. I even got him his own miniature cotton gin so that he can feel right at home! I sometimes hold him up and say, "Oh lordy lord! Massa gonna beat me if I don't do what he say!" Me and the boys laugh and laugh. I have a chef one who we pretend cooks chitlins and collard greens. "They so good, I think I'll have me sommo!" My least favorite one I call Uncle Tom. He's a house golli, so the others don't like him. They don't think he has to work as hard. I can never put them all together in one place, as one of the boys will break out his army men and "quell the riots" and "turn the hoses on them". He's young. He doesn't understand it's not okay to be racist.
