Imani,me again with my OED authority: 1895 B. Upton (title) The adventures of two Dutch Dolls—and a ‘Golliwogg’. This is the first recorded use of the word,perhaps you might enlighten the ignorant folk at Oxford on an earlier usage.as I see it Bertha and her daughter Florence(illustrations) CAN lay claim to having invented the golliwogg both in name and the form we all love.
