I never had a Gollywog doll. The name was used in my school as an insult against black people. I collected the labels off Robertson jam in the hope that I would get a Golly badge but I never got one of those either/ Any way last week I bought a small Golly from Asquiths Teddy Bear shop in Windsor U.K for my baby girl and she seemed to like it alot. She even tried to eat the hair. The poor golly was adored but also seen as a meal so I had to rescue the little chap. I quite like 'em. SAVE THE GOLLY
