I have been just reading through this site, and I didn't actually realize that the golly was considered racist. I guess that is life as a child, complete innocence. I had one many years ago but he became lost. Recently my mum knit one for me, I love him, he's absolutely gorgeous. When I was small, my golly was my favourite doll. As for people out there who think this doll is a racist symbol...get over it. Every race of people on this planet, somewhere in their history has been downtrodden, humiliated etc..by someone else...none of us has been immune, so don't take it personally. Like my Dad says, we're Irish and we love everybody...long live Golly !!
