look man i dont mean to sound derogitory here, but if youre honestly a film student at a university, why, WHY would you choose such a cliche'd title such as "The Next Generation"?? The whole reason they wont do a third film is lack of fresh ideas and support from Bill Murray. I love Dany Aykroyd, but seriously, the Ghostbusters go to hell? Man... and look, I give you a lot of props for attempting a revitilization of Ghostbusters, but a prompt like the next generation harkens back to everything about the 90s that was just so bad. Generation X, generation next, extreme everything.... makes you wanna puke... If youre looking for suggestions, explore outside of what is predictable for the ghostbusters. Work from an angle that will satisfy both old AND new fans, and especially from an angle that says '#### Bill Murray'...Believe me, its no easy task, Ive tried my hand at a story line myself. My advice though, start with a new title...keep it simple... Ghostbusters 3...done over out. Think about how lumped title-wise it would be if it was either Ghostbusters in Hell ( way way too cheesy) or Ghostbutsers the Next Gen ( star trek, extreme ghostbusters, Superman: the return, Batman begins all those remakes... bad or good, you almost automatically know where theyre going by the title) simple keeps them guessing. When the other movies were initially shown, all the posters had were the logo and a date
