SOLOMON RIPINSK

I am resarching Solomon Ripinsky and his family. I am looking for information about his position of U.S. Commissioner, the months or year he spent with E. W. Haskett, U.S. Attorney around 1884, and his brothers Morris and Gabriel Ripin who spent time in Haines.
Any help, books I should read etc. would be appreciated. Eric
