My short history is I worked for Furr Arms for five years in which they did not make any guns. From what I gathered is it is more of a family feud situation then market conditions on why they stopped manufacturing them. One boy got the Furr Arms name and each was going to specialize in a different scale. But I could never get a straight answer from the boss.
I have prints for a 1/3 scale gun and I will rescale them to 1/2 and/or 3/4 scale depending on what people want. If I could get enough intrest to run 25 to 30 guns at a time, I have priced the 1/3 scale under 12K and could do a batch of 1/2 scale for around 20K. Getting the intrest for that many at once is my only hold up.
If I could get about 10 pre-sales with 50% down I could bring in all the material and start manufacturing.
