Drawing GG2222 Breech Ring shows a breech ring without a groove. This will not work.
Drawing GG2223 Breech Ring, Grooved shows the breech ring with a groove.
Drawing GG2272 Barrel, Blank shows the barrel with the groove cut in it, detail B and detail C.
Drawing GG22103 Bolt Assembly shows the bolt with the extractor protruding from the end.
Drawing GG2234 Bolt, detail B and detail C show the extractor protruding from the end.
I found that if you follow these dimensions the extractor will hit the small part of the barrel and will not extend all the way into the groove to allow the bolt to move freely through its cycle with the cam. Also the ejector will hit the outside radius of the groove.
My solution is to cut the groove wide enough to allow the ejector to slide into the correct place.
This is the problem I had when I made my first post. It did not occur to me that the drawings might not be correct.
If you study the drawings I believe you will see this problem and the solution before you cut the groove in the breech ring.
I assembled all the barrels into the breech ring and mounted it on the lathe using the shaft, the front shaft and the barrel ring to drive the work and a center in the breech ring.
