Hi folks, well after much too long an absence I'm finally going again on my project. When I left it I had a firing gun and was fine tuning to get reliable extraction / ejection. I've since read about stronger extractor springs and maybe even rubber springs. I may try this route to help exraction. My question here pertains to an ejection problem... it appears that as the bolt moves back into the carrier block and nears the point of ejection the shell rim is being pinched down by the extractor claw thereby inhibiting release of the spent case. Has anyone considered cutting a .130 wide tapered notch in the carrier block bolt bores to provide a little relief for the extractor? Seems that this "pinching" problem is worce when trying to eject an unfired shell because the bolt is even further back into it's bore, restraining the extractor even more.
Appreciate any thoughts on this issue.
