Mr. Ron Hermans has come up with a neat extractor spring substituion which I thought I would share with you. He uses a 3/32" cross section, 70 durometer "O" ring. This is a very common "O" ring. He cuts a small length to fit the extractor spring hole. The rubber then acts as a "spring". He recommends a diameter of at least two inches to reduce the curvature. I have not had a chance to try it yet, but he swears it works great and from the pictures he's sent me of his work, he seems to know what he's doing and it's cheap and clever.
