Posted by Alan The long and the short of it is that we really don't have a clue about the Gatling gun. But, there does not appear to be *any* type of law *against* them, and the BATF has said they are OK... Therefore, I think the CA-DOJ would have an extremely hard time saying that a builder/owner broke the law... But, I am curious if one must serialize and register the gun after building it. My assumption is that one must, but I would be interested in hearing other people's comments on that. Alan

I (perhaps foolishly) wrote a letter to Sacramento, asking for clarification on this topic. I didn't get any response from them whatsoever. Of course, these are the same folks that couldn't give a decent response (although they did write back) on whether or not it was actually legal to have a loaded magazine for a semi-auto in a car (but not in the firearm). Their response was something along the lines of "well, it is a grey area. We really don't know and it is up to the local jurisdiction if they want to prosecute."
