differences old vs new prints

Can anybody tell me if there are (and if so, what are)differences between plans published in 1992 vs the current plans being sold? I recently became involved in building a gun which was started using the old plans. The documentation back then said the gun would fire .22 short blanks. The website now says the gun will shoot any .22 shells. What parts are different to allow this better performance?
