HI!!!! Without writing a book and my experience with parrots, for about 6 years,, I have heard and read about Timnehs they tend to be more social than congos of course each parrot like people are different,, Have patience with your bird he is still trying to figure us human species out,, as far as Mr. Towel,, well my 6 year old grey a Ghana,, which looks like a congo but about an inch smaller still does not like Mr. Towel for all he can think of is associating Mr. Towel with Mr. Vet,,, so I do not press the issue,, What are you using the towel for??? If not for exam reasons,, well maybe you can start a game of peek a boo using the towel as a game... be prepared around the age of 2 years,, most parrots start the terrible two's like a child, this with my grey lasted about 1 year,, challenging mom with everything,, this can be a sad time for parrots for people think they are a disposable item,, and geat rid of them,, and God knows their fate at that point, first hand I worked as a volunteer for about a year and a half, and I have seen what abuse/neglect can do to any parrot, I have worked with many dangerous macaws whom I developed a trusting relationship with a massive green winged macaw, and after a long time RED trusted me enough to let me touch and scratch his back without trying to do serious damage to me,, he only let about 3 people touch him, he hated men he was a breeder bird who was beaten with broomsticks until, he was rescued,,, we also had cockatoos, two greys, amazons, conures,, you name the bird, and the rescue has dealt with it... I would suggest going to maybe a petsmart, or Barnes/noble and getting books on timnehs,, just please be patient with your bird,, and even if he doesn't have a huge vocab. love him for what he is,, it takes time, and that is what many people do not allow parrots of any species,, they need love, lots of attention kindness, proper fruits/ veggies, fresh water, adequate cage space, time to interact with the family, and understanding,,, I don't want to write too much of a book, please feel free to contact me @ congoparrot@hotmail.com ,, p.s also develope a good relationship with a vet. at least get a once a year exam for your bird!!!! Best wishes Madelynn
