: Hello. I have a 9 month old female
: African Gray. Tonight when my
: husband and I came home from work
: and let her out of her cage, we
: noticed that her right eye was a
: reddish/brown color. Almost
: bloddy looking. It's not swollen
: or puffy. And there's no
: discharge. It doesn't even seem
: to be bothering her. Except that
: she seems to turn her head using
: her good eye to look at things.
: We tried testing her to see if she
: was having vision problems with
: it, and she doesn't appear to be.
: She is eating and drinking,
: playing with her toys, interested
: in her surroundings and of course
: talking. We have two other birds,
: cocateils, but they are in a
: different room and are never
: around each other. I've been on
: the internet all night trying to
: see if I can find anything to
: point me in the right direction,
: but found nothing even close to
: this.

:Hello! From the way it sounds, perhaps your bird injured her eye, via, scratching around eye with toe nail, or maybe hitting against a toy or other object in the cage,,, If no improvement since it happened I would try to find a vet, bird vet if you can you can find many listings via worldwide web, to take a look at it, beings she turns her whole head to look, I would suspect maybe some discomfort,,, beings it's red, even with a human for example I would guess a Broken blood vessel???? I would rather be sure, again if there hasn't been any improvement,, if not please, let a vet check it out.. best wishes, Madelynn
