My 4 year old congo has been plucking and preening since we moved into a new house. I am not with him as much as before because I work out of the house now. He is in our computer room where my daughter and son are doing homework and chatting from around 3-11 every day. He isn't bald but he has spoiled the feathers on his chest area. I got some helpful ideas but what I need to know is if he has been doing this for around a year but hasn't really plucked any feathers just constant preening will the feathers return to normal if I bath him every day and he is only on his own for 6 hours a day now. Can I use bitter apple on his feathers. The vet said he is just not adapting to the change of residence.
