i purchased a grey last year which was half bald due to plucking, took him to the vet had several tests done, all came back clear, vet suggested letting ozzie only have a twelve hour day ie- if your up at 7am then cover him up at 7pm, and give him a dark box for the day if he wants a nap, spraying him daily (have tried listerine, and other pluck deterrents) plain water was fine.move him/her to a busy area of the house where they have constant attention. ozzie was fine for a while all new feathers coming through, vet said its a habit like humans biting their nails, so you have to try to get them out of it by distracting them when they start to do it, ie call them get a new toy, sing to them, just get their attention. this all worked for a while ozzie is now 80% better but occaisonally he will revert back to pulling them out if he's upset with me. or he feels neglected.--Previous Message--
