FISHING MANITOBA

I have had the pleasure of fishing God's Lake and God's River 10 times over the past 25 years. First, I have never caught a Brook in the Lake. I have been down river to 3 Mile rapids, 6 mile rapids, Allen radids, and the furthest outpost camp at Pine Rapids.
Brook Trout fishing can be tough business. I have been down river a on a couple a trips where we could only muster 5 trout over a two day period. I have also been on a trip where I fished exclusively with a gold dare devil ( less than 1/4 oz, dimpled 1/8 oz maybe?) where I caught 28 Brookies in 1 1/2 days. BTW - my father first fished here in '53.
In any event, go down river, even if the fish do not cooperate the river is stunning. Also, large walleye can be had in the river in addition to the pesky Northern.
There is another set of rapids past Pine, that is only realistically possible by air.
I am envious, btw - you are going at prime Lake Trout time.
