Posted by Jason Holmes Jones is the near perfect replacement for Bruce Gary. He rocked on "(She's So) Selfish", and "The Monkey & Me". Doug, Berton, and Prescott sound better than ever. Every Knack album was represented in the concert. They even played nifty covers like; "Break on Through", "Last Train to Clarksville", and "A Hard Day's Night". I bought a copy of "Normal as the Next Guy" on the way home. I'm lucky Tower Records is open until midnight. It's a very good album. "Seven Days of Heaven", "The Man on the Beach", and "Girl I Never Lied to You" are my favorite songs on the album. The new version of "One Day at a Time" is excellent. It's difficult to remake your own material. It's neither better or worse than the version on "Serious Fun", just different. Anyone that likes "One Day at a Time '91" will like "One Day at a Time '01". The HOB show was my fourth time seeing the Knack. I first saw the original Knack open for the Kinks in San Diego (1987, I think). They only played for about 50 minutes, but it was enough to make me realize what a great band they were. In fact, I remember the song "Les Girls" from that show. That is the opening track on "Normal as the Next Guy". Wow....Doug waited a long time to record that one. Again, just like the HOB concert, it was worth the wait. I'm looking forward to the New DVD.

The Knack played The House of Blues in Hollywood on September 25th. What a show! They are a GREAT live band, the concert was long over due. Doug made a joke about it being their first advertised gig on the strip in a long time. They were worth the wait.
