I have been a long time fan since I first saw them play at Stanford University
on April 11, 1980 when I was just 15. I was able to meet them the next
time they came to town the following year at a club. They were very
nice and what a thrill for me since I had a huge crush on Berton. Berton
was so sweet that every time they came to the Bay Area afterwards
he always remembered me. He gave me flowers at one show and
a kiss on the cheek in front of the audience at another show. In 1984 He also
invited my friends and I over to his house when we were visiting Los Angeles.
The last time I saw them, he was so generous to let me and my then
boyfriend sit with him and Doug in their tour bus before the show.
I was NEVER a groupie though, just a fan, so each time I saw him
was completely innocent.
crowd pleaser at all their club dates. Even people who didn't
care for them (like my ex-boyfriend) thought they were a great
band live.
have heard they have never played here......I'm hoping that
since Berton knows I live here now, he will persuade the boys
to skip St. Louis and hit KC instead!!
