Happy New Year to you too!
- On Recording....
If you have a "line out" output from your amp, prob. via L & R phono sockets, you need to connect this to the sound card "line in".
When you then spin up that horrible vinyl analogue stuff...you should hear the input through the computer speakers...or hi-fi (whatever the "line out" of your soundcard is connected to). Assuming all is ok so far, you can then use Windows Sound Recorder (in Programs--->Accesories->Entertainment) to record..just like a conventional tape recorder. Once you've finished, the file can be saved in a no. of different formats....including MP3.
There are more sophisticated sound recorders, with more precise editing/sound manipulation capabilities..."SoundForge" is a favourite if you need to go down this route.
- Roadkills..
1) I could suggest ploughing through "ogrish.com", but I warn you it can be very graphic. In an almost a forensic way they log everything/anything. I cannot bring myself to look at or watch most of it...but they occasionally pick up a news item you might not get anywhere else.
2) If its animals you are after.. then maybe http://www.livingpictures.org/roadkill.htm
