Suppose I have Word running on desktop A, then switch to desktop B and open a new instance of Word (for example, by clicking on an email attachment or opening a file in Windows Explorer). This works fine, but then the instance of Word on desktop A crashes the moment I close the instance of Word on desktop B. I have to kill it in the task manager.
